1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of ClawBook's VPS hosting services. It is designed to protect our infrastructure, our customers, and the broader internet community.
By using ClawBook services, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in service suspension or termination without refund.
2. Prohibited Content
You may NOT use ClawBook services to store, distribute, or transmit:
Illegal Content
Any content that violates local, state, national, or international laws
Child Exploitation
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content exploiting minors - reported to authorities
Malware
Viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or any malicious software
Pirated Content
Copyrighted material without authorization, including torrents and warez
Hate Speech
Content promoting violence or discrimination based on protected characteristics
Fraudulent Content
Phishing pages, scam websites, or deceptive content designed to defraud
3. Prohibited Activities
You may NOT use ClawBook services for:
3.1 Cryptocurrency Mining
Strictly Prohibited: Mining Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, or any other cryptocurrency is not allowed. This includes proof-of-work, proof-of-stake, and any other mining activities. Violations result in immediate termination.
3.2 Spam & Unsolicited Communications
- Sending bulk unsolicited emails (spam)
- Operating open mail relays
- SMS spam or unsolicited messaging
- Scraping email addresses for spam lists
- Operating botnets or spam networks
3.3 Network Attacks
- Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks
- Port scanning or network probing without authorization
- Attempting to breach security of other systems
- IP spoofing or packet manipulation
- DNS amplification or reflection attacks
3.4 Hacking & Unauthorized Access
- Attempting to access systems without authorization
- Distributing hacking tools for malicious purposes
- Credential stuffing or brute force attacks
- Exploiting vulnerabilities in third-party systems
3.5 Fraudulent Activities
- Identity theft or impersonation
- Financial fraud or money laundering
- Phishing or credential harvesting
- Operating ponzi schemes or similar fraud
4. Resource Usage
ClawBook provides dedicated resources for your VPS. However, certain resource usage patterns are prohibited:
4.1 Fair Use
- Do not deliberately consume resources to impact other customers
- Do not create artificial load to "test" infrastructure limits
- Network bandwidth should be used for legitimate purposes only
4.2 Excessive Resource Usage
Warning: If your usage significantly exceeds normal patterns or impacts infrastructure, we may contact you to discuss upgrading your plan or optimizing your usage. Persistent abuse may result in throttling or termination.
4.3 Bandwidth
All plans include generous bandwidth allocations. If you consistently exceed your allocation:
- First occurrence: Warning notification
- Second occurrence: Speed throttling until next billing cycle
- Persistent abuse: Account review and potential upgrade requirement
5. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account:
- Strong Passwords: Use unique, strong passwords for your account
- Two-Factor Authentication: We strongly recommend enabling 2FA
- SSH Keys: Use SSH key authentication instead of passwords when possible
- No Sharing: Do not share account credentials with others
- Report Breaches: Immediately notify us if you suspect unauthorized access
6. Account Sharing & Reselling
- Personal Use: Accounts are for the registered user/organization only
- No Reselling: You may not resell ClawBook services without written authorization
- Team Access: If you need multiple users, contact us about team plans
- Sub-Accounts: Hosting services for clients is allowed, but you remain responsible for their compliance
7. Respect for Others
As part of the ClawBook community, we expect you to:
- Treat support staff with respect and courtesy
- Not harass or threaten other customers
- Report security vulnerabilities responsibly
- Follow reasonable instructions from our abuse team
8. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to:
We investigate all reports promptly and take appropriate action.
9. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP will be handled based on severity:
9.1 Minor Violations
- First offense: Warning email with 48 hours to remediate
- Second offense: Service suspension until issue resolved
- Third offense: Account termination
9.2 Serious Violations
- Immediate service suspension pending investigation
- Account termination without refund
- Reporting to relevant authorities if required
9.3 Critical Violations
The following result in immediate termination without warning:
- Child exploitation material
- Active DDoS attacks
- Cryptocurrency mining
- Malware distribution
- Fraud or phishing operations
10. Appeals
If you believe your account was suspended or terminated in error:
- Email appeals@clawbook.io within 7 days
- Include your account email and service ID
- Provide a detailed explanation
- We will review and respond within 5 business days
Appeals for critical violations (CSAM, active attacks) will not be considered.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP to address new threats or clarify guidelines. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before taking effect.
